Curiosity shaped by constant change.

I’m Sonya, a UCLA senior studying Cognitive Science and Computing. Growing up, my family moved around about ten times, so I got used to adjusting to new people, places, and ways of doing things. That made me really curious about how differently people think and behave.

That curiosity is what I bring to design. Over the past three years, I’ve worked across B2B and B2C products, focused on understanding how people actually behave and turning complex systems into experiences that feel natural. It’s also why I lean on prototyping and storytelling; making an idea tangible helps people understand it, react to it, and show you what actually works.

Outside of design, I host a podcast uplifting communities of color, concert hop, travel whenever I can, hunt for cozy cafés, and watch an unreasonable amount of TV. My favorite watches right now: Severance, The Hunger Games, and Parasite.
